LALAMUSA: The third death anniversary of former nazim Ch Tauqeer Akram Kaira, a cousin of Federal Information Minister Ch Qamar Zaman Kaira and Punjab Finance Minister Ch Tanveer Ashraf Kaira, was observed here on Monday.

Tauqeer had died along with former prime minister Benazir Bhutto Shaheed at Liaqat Bagh Rawalpindi on December 27, 2007. To remember his sacrifices, a function was organised at Tauqeer Shaheed Hall of Commander Shahzad Municipal Library which was attended by a large number of PP leaders and workers. Fateha was offered for the martyrs of Liaqat Bagh incident. Speakers including PPP district president Ch Tahir Zaman Kaira, ex tehsil nazim Ch Nadeem Asghar Kaira and Nawazish Ali paid tribute to Benazir Bhutto Shaheed and Tauqeer for rendering their lives for democracy. Ch Nadeem Asghar Kaira said that BB was a symbol of federation and was a chain of all provinces. She always talked about the rights of the people, he maintained. The PPP would overcome on all crises soon, he added.
